Task Force on Anti-Black Racism

Recommendations

The Task Force recommended initiatives for addressing anti-Blackness at Brown, including increased resources for existing efforts.

On April 28, 2021, the Task Force on Anti-Black Racism delivered its recommendations to President Christina H. Paxson in the form of a report. The Task Force offered 19 recommendations organized within four areas of focus:

  1. Policy
  2. Culture/climate
  3. Curriculum and classroom experience
  4. External community engagement.

In addition, the Task Force made two final recommendations that are meant to ensure that its work continues into the future. In her response shared with the community Aug. 5, 2021, President Paxson focused on the steps the University intends to take or is in the process of taking.
